Liminal Spaces

Fishbowl Studios & Gallery | Seattle, WA | October, 2024

Liminal Spaces explores the quiet power of transition, those moments when identity is questioned, reshaped, and ultimately reimagined. This interactive, community-focused exhibition invites artists and viewers to reflect on what it means to be in-between. It is a celebration of emergence, creative risk, and personal evolution.

Jessalyn Finch’s work, Severance, is a large-scale, two-panel charcoal drawing (8 x 8 ft) that was completed during her Visiting Artist Residency at the Fishbowl in Seattle. It embodies this tension between who we’ve been and who we’re becoming. The piece gives visual form to the internal conflict between self-expectation and the process of releasing old versions of ourselves.
