Wearable Sculptures

Jessalyn Finch started creating these wearable sculptures during the pandemic, drawing inspiration from materials found around her home. Amid the isolating atmosphere of the pandemic, she delved into the shifting dynamics of voyeurism, permission to observe, and the evolving nature of interpersonal perceptions.

Created from torn cardboard, hot glue, paint, and a repurposed helmets, these masks serve as a reflection on how the presence of a person within them alters the audience's perception of the art. The artist employs these masks in captivating living sculpture performances, further exploring the interplay between wearer and viewer.
