Woman in Screen continues Finch’s investigation into how voyeurism has shifted in the wake of the pandemic. As daily life moved increasingly onto screens, the boundaries between observation and intrusion began to blur. The act of viewing others virtually, often without their awareness or consent, has reshaped our sense of permission, normalizing behaviors of perceiving, objectifying, and judging that spill over into real-world interactions.
Created for Smallärt Gallery, the piece combines charcoal on paper with sculpted clay. The drawing physically bends to conform within a 12” x 12” x 12” space, echoing the ways bodies, and identities, are constrained, framed, and consumed within the digital gaze.
